Piedmont Research Strategies (PRS) was honored to present alongside Carevive Systems at the International Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR) conference in Boston last week! Dr. Coombs was the lead author for a poster session titled: “Real-World Pain Symptom Trajectory Among Multiple Myeloma Patients Under Remote Symptom Monitoring with Electronic Patient-Reported Outcomes (ePRO).”

This work represents a long-standing relationship between PRS and Carevive Systems, especially in examining patient-centered, oncology research. Electronic Patient Reported Outcomes (ePROs) integration into routine oncology practice has been shown to improve patient time on therapy, survival, and resource utilization. As reported through ePROs, this study examined the symptomology of Multiple Myeloma patients throughout their cancer treatment. We have been fortunate enough to collect and report on a wealth of longitudinal data over the last year that has successfully a) illustrated the feasibility of using remote symptom monitoring in a diverse cancer patient population and b) provided direction for more rigorous evaluation to measure efficacy of how ePROs impact patient-centered health outcomes and overall cost for patients and their corresponding healthcare systems.
Be on the lookout for more presentations from PRS this year!
